We've been committed to ethical production since our start in 2009. We source our production in the US and abroad with partners who share our concerns for workers, animals and the planet. We believe that producing a well-crafted good in an ethical way enhances the quality of the product and the lives involved in its creation. This is the future of fashion- and it is NOW.
Spratters and Jayne favors low carbon production. Our pieces are made with minimal electrical use. Fibers are dyed in a process that reduces the use of water and limits the amount of harmful chemicals released into the environment and their exposure to workers.
We believe in:
• supporting the rights of women
• encouraging the education, social and financial independence of workers
• sustainable land management and humane animal husbandry practices
• reduced energy consumption
• recycling and the responsible use of materials
NOW ALSO MADE IN THE USA
We’re proud to partner with a local collective to produce stunning, limited edition pieces, each in soft Merino Wool with hand spun or handpainted yarns. The collective provides valuable work to recent immigrants while teaching craft and business skills to a new generation.
Fresh ideas benefit from history, and we're proud of the traditions and skills our partners offer. Collaborating with artists allows for unparalleled craftsmanship, expands our worldview and improves the finished product. Most importantly it encourages the economic health of communities and individuals.
